13U Red Devils stick a fork in two out of three games
They came, they played, they won. And then they did it again. The third time out? We’ll get to that.
The 13U Red Devils traveled to Dunwoody Sept. 11 to play in Crush Childhood Cancer, a one-day tourney whose name explains its purpose. The newly minted team – this was the squad’s first outing – was one of four teams from the metro area to play.
They played three games, beginning just as the rising sun illuminated the fields at Roberts Athletic Park. They wrapped up play just as the sun dipped behind trees ringing the complex. In-between they scored 37 runs while allowing 19. But it’s how those runs were divvied that mattered most....click here to read the full story.

12U Red Devils Cooperstown Runner-Up!
The 12U Red Devils capped off a terrific summer of baseball by traveling to upstate New York and taking second place, out of 48 teams, at the Cooperstown All Star Village tournament held from July 16-22. The Red Devils, who last summer became the first DHYS team ever to reach the Dizzy Dean World Series championship game, are now also the first team in DHYS history to make it to the Cooperstown championship game. The Red Devils reached the championship with a perfect 9-0 record, having notched convincing victories over travel teams from California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, and New York. Shortly before 11 o'clock on Thursday night, after a booming fireworks display under star-filled skies, the boys from Medlock Park and their final foe, Southern Maryland Elite, had their images displayed on the championship field's big board as they were introduced to the crowd of nearly 1,000. The finale was full of big hits from both teams, but the Red Devils finally succumbed by a score of 11-8, in a game that ended after 1:00 a.m. on Friday. Over the course of the tournament, the Red Devils walloped an astounding 32 home runs while posting a team batting average of nearly .500.
The 12U Red Devils played in seven tournaments this summer and made it to championship games in all seven tournaments. The Red Devils earned two runner-up finishes and won five championship trophies, including a third straight district championship and a second straight Georgia state championship. Congratulations to the boys for what has arguably been, over the past two years, the most successful all-star team run in DHYS history.

Consider a DHYS Sponsorship
With more than 150,000 visitors to Medlock each year, sponsorship of DHYS provides a great opportunity to help improve the baseball experience of each and every DHYS player AND gain exposure for your business among DHYS area families, friends, visiting teams and area residents who frequent the park year round! Our DHYS families come from numerous communities in and around Medlock Park (including Decatur, Oak Grove, Druid Hills, Emory, Morningside, Virginia-Highlands, Stone Mountain, Oakhurst and others).
Maintaining and improving our park facilities is a constant challenge. Sponsorships are what make critical improvements possible. It's a win-win scenario! Become a sponsor today and help us to improve and maintain the park, increase your business's visibility among area families and receive a tax deduction while supporting local youth baseball.
Our four sponsorship opportunities include:
General/Team Sponsorship ($400)
Field Sponsorship ($1,000)
Scoreboard Sponsorship ($3,000)
Medlock Park Partner ($7,500)
All sponsors are invited to set up a promotions table at our
